School Internet Portal
School Internet Portal - Scholaris
During 2008 Knox trialled a new web based portal for students and teachers for the purpose of sharing information and communicating more effectively. The trial was well received by both staff and students, and as such we have decided to move into the next stage by opening the portal up to parents. Initially you will be able to view your child’s timetable, see the school planner and access webpages that your son’s teachers give you access to (These are called "Virtual Classrooms"). Further functionality will be opened up over time as we migrate more information and services onto this portal.
WHAT IS IT CALLED? The new portal is called Scholaris and is based on the Microsoft Sharepoint platform. To access it, browse to http://start.knox.nsw.edu.au.
The best browser software to use is Microsoft Internet Explorer 7. If IE7 is not available then Mozilla Firefox v3 and Safari v3 are the next best options.
HOW DO I ACCESS IT? You can only access this portal if you are a current staff member, student or parent at Knox. An individual login and account has been setup for each parent.
Your username is made up of your parent code followed by the letter ‘f’ for father, ‘m’ for mother or ‘g’ for guardian (where applicable). So if your parent code is SMITH01, the father’s username would be SMITH01F.
Your password is the same as your BPay reference number. You can find this on your school fees statement and is usually a 5 digit number. Enter this number for your password exactly as it appears on your statement. Once you have entered your username and password, press enter or click the "Staff Log On" button.

WHAT HAS CHANGED? The old Docushare is no longer being used. A new document library has been created on Scholaris. Even though it is an entirely new library, we have stuck with the name "Docushare" because everyone knows what kind of information can be found here (e.g. syllabus, assessment schedules etc). This library can be accessed by the link on the left hand navigation bar.

WHAT IF I NEED HELP? If you are having trouble logging in, please contact the relevant administration office for your son’s Year (7-8, 9-10 or 11-12) at the Senior School or the Admin Office for the Prep School. If they cannot solve the problem, they will pass on a message to the IT Helpdesk to deal with the issue who will get in touch with you.
We hope you enjoy using this new portal and find it useful for keeping up to date with what’s happening at Knox.
